After two years on the run, the prime suspect in the August 2011 murder of drug store proprietor Harold Rachpaul has been captured.
A senior police official confirmed last night that Ryan Kissoon, called ‘Dahl Belly’, was captured yesterday in Berbice. He has been transported to Georgetown.
Rachpaul, 84, was found bound and strangled in his apartment, located behind his Robb Street, Lacytown drug store he had operated for close to 50 years.
Police had received reports that Kissoon, who worked as a security at a nearby business premises, was seen leaving the slain man’s yard on the night that Rachpaul was believed to have been slain.
