St. Lucia Zouks’ Misbah –Ul- Haq played an important innings in his team victory against the Guyana Amazon Warriors on Sunday at the Guyana National Stadium and the Pakistan captain said that the recently concluded One Day International Series against the West Indies helped him a lot.

Ul-Haq, who clobbered 49 from 33 balls, stated that the wickets are slow and he needed to assess the pitch. “The fast bowlers are struggling to get pace from the pitch so I had to adjust to it and the previous series helped a lot.
He said that his role was to play through the innings. “We had to get a run a ball and my task was to bat through and I did it well”, he said.
Ul-Haq pointed out that he always backs himself against the spinners and that Mohammed Hafeez is a good bowler but it was always going to be difficult for him in the final over which they need 10.
Zouks captian Darren Sammy was satisfied that his team performance. “We did well to restrict the Amazon Warriors and we did job chasing the total. I wasn’t bothered with the start the Warriors got. The new ball tend to go for runs on this pitch but we bowled well in the middle overs”, he said.
