Cody Girls scored 79 games to win the final of the Georgetown Dominoes Association (GDA) sponsored competition which was played on Sunday last at Gaulin Place South Ruimveldt. Noreen Kennedy marked 18 games while Claire Benjamin supported with 16 for the winners. Lions placed second with 78 while TNT brought up the rear with 52.
Kevin Boston chalked up 16, Errol Seymour and Stephon Duncan 15 each for Lions while John Chance who was loved twice by Noreen Kennedy marked 15 for TNT. Trevor Smith of TNT was the other love bird in the final.
In semi final action, Lions notched up 77 games bettering Cody Girls’ 71 and Assassin’s 69. Kevin Boston and Mark Rodrigues were Lions’ leading players with 16 and 14 games respectively while Noreen Kennedy made 16 for Cody Girls.
Osmond Braithwaite and Ricardo Khan scored 14 each for Assassin. Shellon Forde of Cody Girls was the lone love bird.
Cody Girls received a trophy and $100,000 while Lions and TNT collected $50,000 and $30,000 respectively; Noreen Kennedy was named the most valuable player.
