Teen charged with impregnating 13-year-old
A 16-year-old lad is before the court on a charge of rape. The teen of Timmers’ Dam, Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam was on Friday arraigned before Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s court and placed on $100,000 bail.
He is accused of raping a 13-year-old and impregnating her.
According to prosecutor Sergeant Phillip Sheriff the accused and the virtual complainant live in the same area and are known to each other.
He said that between November 1 and November 3, 2012 at Angoy’s Avenue he forced her to have sexual intercourse with him.
The matter was reported and the lad was arrested. A file was prepared and sent to the DPP for advice and he was subsequently charged. The case will continue on June 28, at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s court.
