Dear Editor,
My wife and I are pensioners; we also have two orphan grandsons to care for. On August 29, 2012 an employee from GWI came to my residence and disconnected my water supply without a notice or without telling me anything.
On August 30, 2012, I went to the office where I was told by a female staff member that I owe $12,000 and that I have to pay a reconnection fee of $6,000. I paid the reconnection fee and $10,000 on the amount of $12,000 (see receipt no 20517164). On September 7, 2012 I went to the office to pay the remainder.
When I reached the office I met the said female staff member and she told that the balance was $11,000. I asked for an explanation and she told me that the $12,000 was from July to August 2012.
How is it that from July to Augustthe charge is $11,000. It seems to me that underhand business is taking place in the GWI office at Anna Regina, because the said female staff told me that I have to pay at least half of the $11,000 or they would disconnect it again and I have to pay to reconnect. So I paid $6,000 (Receipt no# 85001527) just to avoid disconnection. David Shivlall Walton Hall
