Just one day before, all systems are in place for the Grand Annual Boxing Day Horserace meet organised by the Kennard Memorial Turf Club tomorrow, Monday 26th December, at the Club’s entity Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne. Close to $7M in cash and Trophies are up for grabs in what is expected to be a scorcher in the 10-race meet and over 75 horses have taken entry for the eagerly anticipated event.
The feature event for animals classified B and lower sponsored by the Kharag family, owners of Metro, is for the Kharaj and family Stakes and Trophy. The family has doled out close to $2M to take care of the highly classified top notch event. The One mile race will see the winning horses racing away with $1M and trophy. A blistering event is anticipated as the distance should suit all the runners. Those set to race are The Massage, Jet Set Go, Grande de Roja, Got to Go, Home Bush Baby, Stormy Flame, Wad a Luck, Star tracer, and Who is on the case and the newly imported the Clever Cat and One Crazy Cat.
The race for 3-yrs-oldanimal Bred and born in Guyana and the West Indies is being taken care of by Muneshwer’s Limited, P&P Imports and Exports and Denmore Garment Manufacturers. The distance is also a mile for the $500,000 top money. Technology, Captain Crook, Damascus Dream, Face the Fire, Sweet Miss, Gold Plated and Money Train will be looking to be among the money in what is expected to be another blistering event.
The D classes match up sponsored by Pomeroon Oil Mills, Torginol Paints and Farfan and Mendes limited has a winner’s money of $400,000 and trophy. Most of the horses entered for the Feature B class race will again be competing in this six Furlongs race.
The event for Two year old animals Bred and Born in Guyana and The West Indies which is sponsored by Neal and Massy Group of Companies and the Kharag General Store has $400,000 and trophy as the top prize over six furlong. Settle in Seattle, Serenity, Red Cloud, Happy Choice, Something Stylish, Rock Sonia, Time Have Change and It Feels Like Gold will all be looking for the gold.
The event for Two Year old Guyana Bred Horses is another six furlongs race for a winner’s money of $300,000 and trophy compliments of Jumbo Jet, Cummings Electrical and Chatterpaul Deo. Among those listed to go are – We want revenge, Watch My shadow, Blessing and Stylish.
The G and Lower race also over 6 furlongs sponsored by Demerara Distillers Limited, for the El Dorado stakes for a first prize of $300,000 will see Top of the line, Face the music, Prado’s Gold, Bridal Stone Corner, Spanish Love, Maya, Miracle Run, and Peace and Love battling.
The H and Lower 7 furlongs race compliments of Mohamed’s Enterprise, Horse Shoe and Goodwood Racing services with the first prize of $220,000 will see Royal Champion, Dream Girl, Savion, Royal Salute, Serenity, Wicked Intention, and Prospectors Pride competing.
Republic Bank Guyana Limited takes charge of affairs in the ‘I1 and lower 6 furlongs event for the $180,000 top money and trophy. Sun Raiser, Funny Sided, Try Again, Diplomat, Bounty Flyer, and Little Spike are among those entered.
The I3 and lower race will be competed for the Digicel stakes and trophy. The winning money is tagged at $160,000 along with trophy over 6 furlongs. Some 15 horses have taken entry.
The K and L event also over six furlongs will see the champion taking away $100,000 and trophy compliments of P& P Insurance Brokers with some nine horses entered.
Among some of the other sponsors are General Equipment and Farm Supplies Limited, Ariel Enterprise, Inc and Pharmagen Enterprise.
The outstanding jockeys, Trainer and stable will all receive trophies and other accolades compliments of Businessman Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall Bourda market.
