Upper Level host ‘Fun in the Sun’ today
The popular Upper Level Barber Shop will be hosting its 12th annual ‘Fun in the Sun’ Fun Day at the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) Ground in Thomas Lands today with several of the usual sport activities set to attract major participation.
The 2011 ‘Fun in the Sun’ will feature seven-a-side football, cricket, athletics and several novelty events among the Salon and Barber Shops. Over the years the Fun Day has grown into an inter-barbershop competition for a year’s bragging rights.
This year, the organisers have added a Take Away Lunch to the event, which is geared at gaining further support. The event is not just for barbers, but has encompassed events for the Salons that are a part of the hair-styling community in Guyana.
Some of the sponsors of the 2011 event include, Ansa McAl, Howard Construction, Banks DIH Ltd., Star Party Rental, Farley Filling Station and Cell Tech. The event is an all-day event where the YMCA Fun Park will be opened for children to recreate.
