Dear Editor,
Mr. George Robinson was outwardly reserved, complicated bundle of practicality, endearing modesty and self discipline. Goals and a practical viewpoint often characterize the man. Down to earth, self motivated, patient and responsible.
His greatest strength was to set goals and pursue them until attained. Nothing got in the way of his plans and ambitions, no shortcuts or cheating was in his plans as these would’ve devalued their satisfaction.
A hard worker who had an intrinsic need to challenge himself, he never thought of failure, his was always to succeed and to stand on his own two feet. In doing so, respect was important to him
What I learnt from him is that prior planning and preparation prevented poor performance. He always said, “Weigh all the pros and cons of any issue in advance, rehearse exactly what you want to say before saying it.”
He was dependable, particularly in a crisis. He disliked chaos and unpredictability. You were sure of a sound, practical advice from Mr. Robinson.
His work was very important to him and it was never taken lightly, always holding fast to duty and responsibility.
He was a man who loved God, was dedicated to his Church and parishioners, especially the young people who are servers, also the men’s guild.
My life is richer and I am indeed blessed to have known Mr. George Leslie Robinson.
HE WHO DWELLS IN THE SECRET PLACE OF THE MOST HIGH SHALL ABIDE UNDER THE SHADOW OF THE ALMIGHTY PSALM: 91- 1
May his soul rest in peace and rise in glory. A good friend.
