Man charged with slaughtering neighbour’s cow
A man who is said to be of unsound mind, and who is described by residents in Leguan as a mad man, is in police custody for the illegal slaughter of a cow at Leguan.
According to reports, the man who resides on the small island of Leguan on the Essequibo River, allegedly committed the act, some time between Monday October 3 and Tuesday October 4.
Police said that although the man remains in custody, an analysis of his mental health will be conducted to ultimately pronounce on the state of his mental health before charges could be instituted against him.
The farmer who owned the animal told police that he discovered his animal with numerous chop wounds about its body.
