Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets First Division team along with its official sponsor Gizmos & Gadgets of Wellington Street, Georgetown will on World Teachers’ Day honour four (4) outstanding teachers.
The four teachers have been selected from the Port Mourant, Lower Corentyne, Corentyne Comprehensive and J.C Chandisingh Secondary Schools.
Secretary/CEO of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club Hilbert Foster disclosed that under the team’s “Say Yes to Education Campaign”, the teachers would be honoured for their commitment, discipline and hard work to the profession and by extension the youths of the Ancient County. They would also be honoured for performances in sports and for being positive role models to youths.
Foster explained that each of the schools would nominate two teachers each and a three man Selection Committee headed by DTV-8 News Editor Mr. Gregory Rambarran would select the winner and three runners-up.
The winning teacher would receive a $60,000 E-Book reader and the runners-up MP4s worth $15,000 each.
The presentation of prizes is set for October 5 at the Port Mourant Secondary School. The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club during the ceremony would also by honouring nine (9) Head Teachers in the Lower Corentyne as part of their 4th Annual “Tribute to Head Teachers’ Programme”.
