The upgrading of the Guyana Fire Service (GFS) headquarters received a shot in the arm yesterday with the donation of $200,000 in plywood and lumber, compliments of Barama Company Limited.
The donation was made at the company’s Land of Canaan, East Bank Demerara location.

Work is currently being done on the GFS headquarters building in downtown Georgetown.
Chief Executive Officer of Barama Company Limited, Clement Ooi, made the donation to Fire Prevention Officer, Gregory Wickham, who represented Chief Fire Officer, Marlon Gentle.
Also present were Barama’s Head of Corporate Affairs and Forest Planning, Mohindra Chand and Sawmill Manager, Cho Shiew Bun.
