Floodlights, Memorex, Regal Seniors through to finals Rose Hall Females, Wellwoman, 4R Lioness, Lusignan Street Warriors through to semis
The much anticipated finals of the Stag Beer & El Dorado Rum nationwide male and female softball tournament has been postponed to June 5 due to the inclement weather. Weather permitting action is set to get on its way at 9:00am at the GCC Ground Bourda.
Results for quarterfinals matches played last weekend are: Female Open – Lusignan Street Warriors def. Glamorous by 7 wickets. Glamorous 54 all out off 9.4 overs, Bibi Trausnitzer 3-6. Lusignan 56 for 3 off 7 overs, Jeanette Daniels 18 not out.
Rose Hall Females def. Ariel Divas by 3 wickets. Ariel Divas 64 for 7 off 10 overs. Rose Hall Females 65 for 7 off 9.4 overs.
Wellwoman def. Mahaica Princesses by 7 wickets. Mahaican Princesses 49 all out off 9 overs, Zaheeda Sandally 4-4. Wellwoman 55 for 3 off 4 overs, Victoria Bacchus 26.
4R Lioness def. Corriverton Queens by 46 runs. 4R Lioness 111 for 4 off 10 overs, Tracy Glasglow 33, S. Gonsalves 28. Corriverton Queens 65 for 7 off 10 overs, S. Makbein 22 no. Rose Hall Females will play Wellwoman and 4R Lioness will play Lusignan Street Warriors on June 5 at 9AM.
Over 40 Male semifinals results: Regal Seniors def. Savage Masters 7 wickets. Savage 178 for 4 off 25 overs, Falim Mohammed 56, B. Baksh 48. Regal Seniors 183 for 4 off 24.3 overs, Lance Adams 64, Anil Hardyal 47 no.
Floodlights def. Albion Masters by 1 run. Floodlights 177 for 10 off 25 overs, Richard Persaud 27, V. Moonsammy 4-24, S. Mangal 3-48. Albion Masters 176 all out off 25 overs, S. Mangali 50, J. Sheriff 31, Rabindra Singh 6-33. Floodlights will now face Regal Seniors in the final.
Male Open Quarterfinals results: Cotton Field def. Regal by 55 runs. Celebrity Times def. Rockaway. Memorex def. Jaguars. Trophy Stall def. Golden Fleece.
Male Open Semifinal results: Memorex def. Celebrity Times by 7 wickets. Celebrity Times 196 for 6 off 15 overs, W. Edwards 49, I Forik 47, Roy Jafferally 3-41. Memorex 197 for 3 off 14.3 overs, Michael Ramdyal 87, Steve Ramdyal 60 no. The second semifinal between Trophy Stall and Cotton Field of Essequibo will be played at the GCC Ground Bourda at 9AM on June 5.
Winning prize for all three categories are $50,000 and Trophy, Runner-Up $25,000 and Trophy, Player of the Match $5,000 and Trophy, Player of the Tournament $5,000 and Trophy.
