38 Mae’s students successful at GWKA grading exams
The successful students pose for a photo following their performances which resulted in them attaining higher grades.
The Guyana Wado Ryu Karate Association recently held examinations for students at the Mae’s School Dojo and 38 came out successful.
Scores of onlookers witnessed the event in which six were upgraded to 1st Degree Black Belts, eight Brown Belts, 12 Green and 12 Yellow Belts.
Achieving Black Belt status were Sandya Singh, Alissa Baksh, Alissa Nurse, Arvin Pancho, Jeevan Dallip and Samella Britton.
The exams were held under the watchful eyes of Sensei Telicia Ferouz and Chief Instructor Sensei Winston Dunbar. The Mae’s Dojo is one of the first in the school system to be started by the Guyana Wada Ryu Karate Association and has been successful for several years now.
The association also has Dojo’s at Eccles, Tuschen, Thirst Park and will soon launch several others across Guyana. Interested persons can contact Sensei Dunbar on 650-6836.
President of the GWRKA Sensei Darren Nurse praised the successful karatekas for their determination and discipline while lauding the efforts of the chief instructor Sensei Dunbar for keeping Wado Ryu Karate active in the schools.
