Guyanese continue to perform in the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board competitions with former Guyana under-19 all-rounder Kellon Carmichael and Guyana First-Class player Deon Ferrier contributing to their teams’ outright win over the weekend in the Trinidad & Tobago National Two-Day Championship League.
Aranguez dismissed Explorers for 199 with Carmichael taking 3-39 and Ferrier 3-45.
In reply Aranguez made 253 with Michael Brown making 54, Rishi Paria 52, Rohan Parsran 35 and Ferrier 30. With a deficit of 54, Explorers fell for 189 with Rakesh Seecharran taking 7-63 and Carmichael 2-19.
Aranguez were set a challenging 139 to win outright from 14 overs. Needing to score at 10 runs per over Carmichael was asked to open the batting.
Carmichael got his team off to a flying start with 23 from 10 balls, but it was Kevon Pierre’s 40 not out from 26 balls and West Indies U-15 captain Vikash Mohan 39 from 16 balls which brought home the game for Aranguez in the last over as they finished on 140-5 to take full points.
Aranguez maintain second position on the points table with four games to play.
