Two freed of murder in lower court
The two persons who were accused of killing Albouystown resident Wendell Tappin yesterday walked out of the magistrate’s court free of the charge as Magistrate Fazil Azeez upheld no case submissions by their lawyer Euclin Gomes.
The two men, Leonard Allicock and Randolph Allicock were charged in 2009, with the murder.
The matter was prosecuted by Police Inspector Robert Tyndall.
It is alleged that on December 31, 2009, at Albouystown, they murdered Wendell Tappin.
It is alleged that Tappin had left his home on New Year’s Eve 2009, to collect a phone that he had given to someone to charge in Hill Street, Albouystown, when two men confronted him.
One held him down while the other chopped him.
