Dear Editor,
I could not believe the rank audacity of the Hon. Attorney General who called on Mr. Nigel Hughes to apologise to the President.
In fact the President should be apologising to the nation for the embarrassment he has visited upon us with his intemperate outbursts and abuse of persons and institutions that rightfully highlight his lack of leadership and commonsense. He should apologise for surrounding himself with certain characters.
He has caused us to lose the respect of many in CARICOM and further afield. On several occasions I have had cause to shut up when my country is being castigated by CARICOM nationals for having so many natural resources and yet our President runs all over the world with his begging bowl.
He should be doing what he was placed there to do – implement fair policies that would make the country attractive to investors, both local and foreign, not making asinine comments like VAT has not been a burden on the people. Everyone except him and his cohorts knows that it is.
He forgets that he is the servant of the people and as such we have the right to question him and get accurate answers.
Why stop advertising in the dailies? How many of us can access the web site set up for procurement? This is just another ploy as was exposed by others before, to starve the independent dailies financially and prevent the majority of the population from knowing where our taxes are going.
Yes sir this President needs to apologise to us for his mistreatment and misleading of us. .
