Attorney-at-law Joe Harmon has been appointed as the legal representative of the Guyana Amateur Boxing Association (GABA).
GABA boss Steve Ninvalle informed that they made the request to the experienced attorney who readily accepted. The GABA executive body welcomed the move to have Harmon on board noting that this was a positive step in the right direction. Ninvalle stated that as the executive attempts to cover all areas of running the sport in a proper manner, this was a move to aid their development as an organisation.

Ninvalle said, Harmon was one of the better legal minds around and also has a wealth of experience, not only as a legal luminary, but in the sporting arena as well.
In a brief comment, Harmon indicated that as a past football executive, he brings not only sporting knowledge, but 15 years of legal practice.
The former President of the Guyana Bar Association and Army Officer stated that equity and justice are attributes needed in dealing with athletes, especially in the formulation of contracts and similar documents and he brings the ability to dispense same from a legal standpoint.
He is hopeful that even though GABA is an amateur organisation he can bring a level of professionalism to the organisation in their dealings both locally and internationally with their world governing and other affiliate bodies.
