Kevin Jeffrey leads Andrew King during a recent meet
Group Four race car driver, Kevin Jeffrey, believes that his experience in the Jamaican leg of the Caribbean Championship Series has not only allowed him to learn more about his car, but serves as a source of confidence for Sunday’s contest at South Dakota.
“The outing in Jamaica has taught us a great lot about the car and we know what is needed to be done to get it up to maximum performance,” Jeffrey said yesterday ahead of the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) race meeting.
Speaking with Kaieteur Sport, the top local driver informed that his team is working on getting the new engine that was acquired just before the Jamaica trip. He said once all go well the plan is to test the new engine at the meet on Sunday.
Asked whether he is willing to make any predictions, Jeffrey said that fans can expect some intense racing in the heated group, especially with Andrew King, Mark and Paul Vieira, Andrew Morgan and others hoping to impress on the course.
“As you know, Andrew had a really bad outing in Jamaica and no doubt he will be aiming to do well to regain control of the category especially with Bushy Park so near and Guyana looking to once again top the points table,” Jeffrey eagerly related.
The driver extended his appreciation to his team of mechanics that includes, Brian Ten-Pow, Joseph Seabra, Rajiv Ragaram and Omar Crespo from Miami. He also recognised his sponsors, Infab, Shivo’s Auto Body and Automotive Art.
