Dear Editor,
I have followed with some attention the accusations being leveled against the Guyana Cricket Board by many individuals, including Vice President, Bissoondial Singh who is also President of the Demerara Cricket Board.
Many of these accusations may have merit and I await with high expectation the two reports commissioned by the Minister: the Engineer’s Report on the two hostels and the forensic audit of the board’s finances.
Mr. Bissoondial Singh having been very vocal in his criticism of the Guyana Cricket Board, one would expect him to have the Demerara Cricket Board’s affairs in order.
You could appreciate my surprise therefore, if not consternation, when I recently passed by the Demerara Cricket Board’s facility and building at the GNIC ground at Woolford Ave. This is a brand new building with concrete pitches that have been overtaken by bush and is now a ‘jungle’.
This is the kind of hypocrisy that pervades Guyana’s Cricket. Richard Singh
