St. Pius eased past Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sport (MCYS) in the final to capture the Godwin McPherson Foundation sponsored one-day Knockout Mixed team Circle Tennis Tournament which was played on Sunday, at the NIS Ground,

The event organised by Thondai Mc Allister and co-ordinated by AL Sport & Tour Promotions saw five teams participate in the competition which was planned in memory of the late Retired Colonel Godwin McPherson.
In the final-
St. Pius beat MCYS.
MCYS made 89-5 off 40 balls with Carlotta Hinds 29, Tracy Oneal 17, Edward Cobenna 21 and Patrice Stewart 14, being the principal contributors.
St Pius replied with 90-1. Extras top scored with 46, while Errol Squires and Shane Allicock each scored 19 runs.
In the day’s other results:
MCYS won by default from Golden Grove Stars who walked off the field in protest.
Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sport (MCYS) made 187-4 off their 50 deliveries with Patrice Stewart 68, Carlotta Hinds and Christine King scoring 24 apiece, while Lawrence Kellman added 22.
Golden Grove Stars were 111-6, before they walked off the field.
St. Pius then beat Bagotsville.
St Pius 249-3 with S. Allicock 117, E. Squires 56, Teon Floris 36.
Bagosville Victory Chaser replied with 109-10. Mindy Giles 37, Youlanda Maynard 21, Tonica Jones 12.
MCYS won easily over Kingston Circle Tennis Club.
Kingston Circle Tennis Club 207-4, Mario King 66, Claude Wilkinson 57, Odana Benjamin 35.
Ministry of CYS 229-2, E. Cobenna 81 not out with 8×6’s, P Stewart 37, Julius David 35, C. Hinds 20.
Kingston CTC defeated Victory Chasers in the third place playoff.
Best batsman award went to S Allicock, while on the female side C Hinds got the nod and Most discipline Team award went to MCYS.
