Dear Editor,
In a democracy, citizens must be critical of all aspects of governance and we stand up for what we believe in or our rights will be trampled in time.
We hope that various parties such as the Government of Denmark, UN, and Indo-Guyanese read Mr. Kissoon’s columns on a daily basis. These columns expose mismanagement, abuse and corruption by this Jagdeo’s PPP Government.
There were several attempts by the President of Guyana, Mr. B. Jagdeo, and members of his ruling elite to silence Mr. Kissoon. These attempts to constantly discredit Mr. Kissoon have not worked. In fact it has caused local and foreign people to be more aware of the true dictatorial nature of the PPP. Even long time former PPP supports are disgusted.
Many fear for the personal safety of Mr. Kissoon. We know “dictatorial Jaganisn” in the form of Burnhamism in the early eighties destroyed many including most well known critic and scholar, Dr. W. Rodney. We have not recovered from this trauma of that era.
The ruling elite of this PPP Govt. are getting increasingly desperate and will attempt just about anything.
We must be vigilant (whether we agree or disagree with Mr. Kissoon’s views) and condemned those responsible for the personal attacks on Mr. Kissoon.
The question is how long will the rank and file PPP members allow the destruction of all things Guyanese to continue in their name? Anand Daljeet
