A woman was punched yesterday for heckling during yesterday’s hosting of the Peoples National Congress Reform Region Four Annual Conference.
This newspaper understands that as the participants of the Conference were gearing to vote there was a flurry of heckling and the woman hurled an unsavoury remark towards a doctor who is also a close supporter of the Dr Richard Van West Charles faction.
This angered another supporter of Dr Charles who punched the woman.
The assailant was forced to flee the congress after several angry participants pursued him.
He managed to make good his escape in a vehicle.
Following the ruckus that blotted the day’s events, General Secretary of the party, Oscar Clarke, called for participants who had information about the assault to submit statements so the matter could be dealt with in a timely manner.
Following the uproar, several members of the GYSM, the youth arm of the party, have called for the assailant which they believe is from that body.
