Suriname’s Boeda promises treat for local fans

Tomorrow’s Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club first Drag Meet of the year is gearing up to be a fierce battle for supremacy between Guyana and Suriname which will be represented by as much as 30 cars with the Nissan 350Z driven by Wirin Boeda expected to be among the front runners.
According to President of the club Aaron Bethune, Boeda’s machine is anticipated to create excitement for the fans, but could also provide headache for the local competitors.
Bethune speaking with Kaieteur Sport said that this Meet will be one of the biggest staged locally and is advising all motor racing fans not to miss the rivalry at the South Dakota Circuit where the two countries lock horns for bragging rights and the title of who possess the best drag racer.
The President stated that six categories will be competed in and they are as follows:
Group A: 0 – 1600 cc; Group B: 1601-2000cc; Group C: 2001-2200cc; Group D1 Unlimited Class for 4-wheel driven cars above 2200cc and those cars with Nos; Group D2 Unlimited Class for 2-wheel driven cars above 2200cc and those with Nos; and an Open Class for Super Bikes.
A multiplying factor of 1.4 would be applied to the cc of all force induction cars to determine their placement.
The first race of the day commences at 10:00 hrs and admission is $1,000, while children and vehicles are free.
