Georgetown blast Bartica 7-0; East Demerara needle Upper Demerara
Jermaine Sutton netted a hat-trick in piloting Georgetown to an emphatic 7-0 win over Bartica when competition in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Inter Association Under-17 League continued over the weekend at the GFC ground.
Enjoying the warmth of the Sunday afternoon sun, the City lads outplayed their counterparts as King Archer and Randolph Wagner also netted a brace each.
Sutton converted in the 69th, 83rd and 85th minute; Archer tucked in his in the 7th and 41st minute while Wagner rocked the nets in the 37th and 41st minute.
On Saturday, East Demerara defeated their host’s Upper Demerara by the lone goal of their encounter.
Group play will continue this weekend with another two matches. On Saturday at the Enmore Ground from 15:00hrs, East Demerara entertains West Demerara while on Sunday at the Blairmont Ground on the West Coast of Berbice, Georgetown will face Berbice. Kick off time is 14:00hrs.
