Dear Editor,
Mr. Leon Suseran’s letter, captioned, “Teachers need to vote with their heads and not their hearts” at the upcoming GTU elections, left out a very important fact.
That is, that Mr. Bynoe is the Regional Vice President Berbice, so if Berbice is not getting information then he is responsible. I hope that Mr. Suseran did not deliberately leave out this bit of info.
However it is Mr. Bynoe’s answers to the questions that I am concerned about and would like some clarifications. I wish for him to answer the following questions.
(a) How would he impose morality so that the union becomes strong?
(b) Is he saying that teachers have no morality?
(c) What about the missing money, what does he intend to do about it?
(d) Is he not being dishonest by not accepting the fact that he is responsible for the teachers in Berbice not being informed?
(e) Could he explain how morality can improve the union’s ability to bargain for a better package for teachers?
