Former beauty queen Carolan Lynch has been freed of an unlawful possession of arms and ammunition charge that was instituted against her some three years ago.
Magistrate Susanna Lovell had the charges dismissed following a no-case submission by Lynch’s attorney Nigel Hughes.
“I feel relieved and thankful to God,” the former beauty contestant said in a brief telephone interview with Kaieteur News.
Lynch, along with her husband, Swiss House boss Farouk Razac, were charged in November 2006, with unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition following a police raid at their Lot 106 Ireng Place, Bel Air Park residence.
Police alleged that on November 10, 2008, Razac unlawfully had four 9mm magazines, being component of a firearm. The second firearm charge said he also had a Beretta Automatic pistol.
The cambio dealer was also charged with unlawfully having 120 rounds of 9mm ammunition
He was placed on $1M bail while Lynch was granted $500,000 bail.
In May, 2007, Razac was found dead in his home. His death was said to be due to ligature strangulation.
