The Area “H” ground in Rose Hall Town Corentyne would come alive tomorrow when home team Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadget (RHTG&G) clash with Young Warriors in the championship match of the Peter Lewis Associated Construction Services Under-23 competition.
An exciting match is anticipated as both teams boast strong line-ups on paper with several Berbice and Guyana junior cricketers, senior Inter County players and a West Indies senior female cricketer expected to be on show.
RHTG&G will be led by the hard hitting Berbice Under-19 player Eon Hooper with back up in the batting coming from Dominic Rickey, Jason Sinclair, West Indies female cricketer Shemaine Campbell, Clinton Pestano, Terrence Madramootoo, Trevor Thomas, Shawn Perreira and Demerara senior all-rounder Damon Vantull.
Sharing the new ball for the home team are medium pacers Pestano and Madramootoo while the spin department will be manned by offspinners Hooper, Troy Mathieson, Lloydel Lewis, supported by legspinners Campbell, Shawn Perreira and Vantull.
Young Warriors, who survived a scare against Albion in their semi final game, has a strong batting line up which includes Berbice senior player Richard Ramdeen, National Under-19 player Seon Hetmyer, the hard hitting Farouk Hussain, Reeaz Kassim, Daryl Narine, Shimroy Hetmyer and Waheid Edwards. Pacers Devendra Ramoutar and Seon Hetmyer lead the bowling attack which includes offspinners Farouk Hussain, Daryl Narine and left armspinner Richard Ramdeen.
A large and colorful crowd is expected to witness what should be one of the best finals in the Ancient County in the last five years.
The match bowls off at 09.30 hours and the winner is guaranteed $50,000 with the loser pocketing $25,000. Player of the finals will be rewarded with $5,000 and a trophy.
The umpires in charge of proceedings are Roshan Moakan, Joseph Simon and Zaheer Moakan.
