Three men are in police custody assisting with investigations into a Sunday night robbery at Princetown, Corriverton, Berbice.
The robbery occurred at around 19:45 hours, during which businessman Vikanand Narain and his daughter Natasha were attacked and robbed by three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
According to the police, investigations have revealed that Narain was in the process of closing his shop when the trio approached and requested to purchase cigarettes. When the businessman attempted to sell them they held him and his daughter, who was also in the shop, at gunpoint.
The bandits took away $350,000, a quantity of jewellery, a laptop computer and four cellular phones after which they escaped.
During the robbery Narain was struck about his body and has been admitted a patient at the Springlands Hospital.
Police are awaiting his recovery to facilitate and identification parade with the three suspects.
