The parents of Pradeep Ramdin, an accident victim who is a patient in the High Dependency Unit at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) are saddened at their son’s condition after an accident that occurred three Sundays ago.
Both parents who seemed distressed were apprehensive about giving much information. However, the victim’s father, Nandeo Ramdin, related that his son who lives at Good Fortune Squatting Area, West Bank Demerara was at home having a drink and left to go out.
It was while returning home that he was involved in a vehicular accident.
“He was coming back home and while crossing the road, a car overtake another car and hit he down and the man who hit he down bring he to the hospital,” Ramdin said.
He told this newspaper that the driver was detained at La Grange Police Station.
However, he was subsequently placed on bail.
“Me son left here to punish and the police say that when my son catch back himself they will take a statement.”
According to Ramdin, relatives of the driver visited his son once and they haven’t heard from them since.
Both parents agreed that they wanted some satisfaction from the police in the handling of the matter.
