Two shot in Riverview
A 17-year-old and his girlfriend were rushed to the Georgetown Hospital last night after they were shot by a lone gunman at Riverview, Ruimveldt.
Mark Anthony Fernandes, of Riverview, was shot in the chest, while Cheryl Marks, 25, also of Riverview, was shot in the upper right thigh.
According to reports, Fernandes and Marks were in Riverview when a man known as ‘Ulric’ walked up the couple.
After accusing Fernandes of having a relationship with his girlfriend, ‘Ulric’ struck the teen in his head.
The suspect reportedly then drew a handgun and shot Fernandes in the chest. It is unclear how Marks was wounded. They were rushed to the GPHC at around 23:40hrs. Both appeared to be in stable condition.
The gunman was still at large at press time.
