Dear Editor,
Minister of Agriculture, Robert Persaud’s call to the Auditor General to carry out “comprehensive audits of on going projects” is a mockery and comes after the horse has fled the stable.
Consequent upon the continuing expose by Kaieteur News (who deserves every support from Guyanese taxpayers) of corruption in so many government agencies, I am sure that several paper trails would have vanished, thus scuttling any meaningful audit.
The corruption will continue. It has become a way of life for many within the PPP’s hierarchy and is gravy to the Party’s many henchmen.
If your newspaper were to visit Foulis, it will be discovered that one very strong PPP supporter, has several pieces of heavy-duty equipment at his residence. These equipment, are clearly labeled Ministry of Agriculture. That supporter has had possession of the said equipment for over four years now.
In fact, the use and movement of the equipment have damaged the main access road to Foulis. The hard evidence is on the ground. The Minister of Agriculture is aware of this problem.
This is how callous the PPP administration has become. Little wonder the electorate gets no explanation. PPP top boys have one agenda: Get rich quick! But, the longest rope has an end. They cannot con the people forever.
Keep slugging, Kaieteur News. The increased circulation of your newspapers is evidence that you are doing a job which the people of Guyana appreciate. Nirmal Awadh
