Dear Editor,
I wish to seek your kind cooperation to help me inform my friends, the public and supporters, that as of now, I have decided to turn to song -writing.
With my penchant for spirituality, my first effort will be a modest plagiarism – the title of my first effort is “I Believe”.
The words are as follows:
I believe the government when some of their leaders say to us, thou shall not steal.
I believe they truly hate competition
I believe our Police when they say we have an eye witness to the Lindo mass murders. I believe.
I believe my Government believes in shared democratic governance, but practices hegemony.
I believe that the Government and our leaders hardly know who is Roger Khan.
Shame on the imperialists for locking him up. A Patriotic Guyanese who vowed to protect this Administration.
I believe the GPF and GDF big ones had nothing to do with the torture and inhumane treatment meted out to poor Troy ‘Cats’ Small – yes I believe.
I believe that history is not repeating itself – recall Adolph Hitler burnt down the Reinstag to get the enemy.
I believe the Security forces must be congratulated for their swift action.
I believe, I cannot believe why they have cleaned up the Ministry of Health compound before the foreign assistance came in.
I believe that contracts to the tune of millions being landed by a select group, some who under perform is all above board. Yes I believe.
I believe that our criminals all live in Buxton and South Georgetown.
I believe the PPP when before 1992 they referred to the police as ‘Goons’.
I now believe they knew of the potential among a few ranks. Action speaks louder than words.
I believe the pity is, some decent honest police officers and ranks must bear the burden of bad name, thanks to the new bully brutes and torture twisters of the State.
I believe we’re not inching towards a Police type state where fear stalks the land.
I believe the commissioning of the national Ophthalmology Hospital in Berbice is great, an excellent idea, so also, is the heart (cardiac unit).
I believe that congratulations to the Government for establishing this hospital in Port Mourant is in order
I believe that the Ministers and top governmental personnel and their families will use these facilities and not go overseas for treatment, Yes, I believe.
I believe the Government does not believe in different strokes for different folks.
I believe every word uttered on the only Radio Station controlled by the State.
I believe one Radio channel plays music to muddle the minds of our youths.
I believe we did have a re(al) turn to De mock (Rasta word) ‘a see’.
This song writing effort will continue a little later, maybe after the delivery of the City Hall report,
