GDF performs another mercy mission
Ranks take Richard Lopes to a waiting ambulance
Responding promptly to a call for help, the Guyana Defence Force yesterday conducted an emergency mercy flight, which brought Richard Lopes out of Kibilibiri to Georgetown to seek medical attention.
Lopes’ relatives called the GDF after he complained of extreme abdominal pains, which seemed to restrict his movement.
One of the GDF helicopters was immediately dispatched and the ailing man was flown to Base Camp Ayanganna, where a GDF ambulance took him to the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.
Kibilibiri is located near the Ituni area approximately 80 miles up the Berbice River.
