Police have held a third man for the vigilante-style killing of 39-year-old Patrick Henry, the Victory Valley, Wismar man who was allegedly abducted, beaten and dumped in a drain after being accused of stealing.
A police official said that the suspect, who is also from Wismar, was arrested on Tuesday. Two other men were detained on Sunday.
Patrick Henry, called ‘Doggie’, was admitted to the Georgetown Hospital on April 15 with broken arms and burns about the body after police ranks found him lying in a semi-conscious state in a drain in Silver City Street, Linden.
Kaieteur News understands that Henry, an ex-convict with several offences, alleged that three men beat him with sticks after abducting him from his home last week Thursday.
The men had reportedly accused Henry of breaking into a Wismar residence and stealing an ice-box and a number of other items.
The injured man was taken to the Mackenzie Hospital but was then transferred to the GPHC where he succumbed on Saturday.
An x-ray revealed that Henry had several old gunshot injuries and that about six bullets were still in his body.
