Colin Mack denied bail in High Court
– Preliminary Inquiry commences
Chief Justice Ian Chang has denied a bail application made by Attorney at Law Glenn Hanoman, on behalf of his client, Colin Mack. The lawyer was seeking to gain pretrial liberty for the promoter who was remanded on a charge of rape, on Wednesday last, by Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson.
The preliminary inquiry (PI) commenced yesterday and the virtual complainant along with another witness gave evidence.
The matter was adjourned for Monday when the PI will continue. Mack remains behind bars for the weekend.
It is alleged that Mack, on April 12, had sex with a 19-year-old woman without her consent.
