Organiser of Guyana’s first 20/20 cricket festival Paul ‘DJ Stress’ Bonar Jnr. in an interview with Kaieteur Sport said that he has added another match to the programme which will be held on Friday, May 1, at the Guyana National Stadium.
According to Bonar Jnr. the additional game will see a side made up of Guyanese residing in Suriname take on a combination named Capo’s XI in a specially arranged 10/10 match just before the start of the final with the winner set to take home $50,000.
With just two weeks to go, before the ‘big’ event, the teams confirmed are Igloo Jaguars, New Line Cavaliers, GT Pit bulls and an East Coast Demerara combination.
Bonar added that players from various clubs around Paramaribo and Nickerie including those who’re Guyanese and ones with Guyanese parentage will participate in the exhibition match.
Capo XI will feature players from Berbice such as Andre Percival, Eion Abel, Keith Fraser, Jaipaul Heeralall, Robin Budhram, Marcus France, Mahadeo Persaud and Derrick “Capo” Lalsa – Manager
Igloo Ice Cream will be given away to the first 1000 kids under the age of 10 years. During the many intervals, listen out for the many giveaways based on ticket stubs. Gizmos & Gadgets will give away MP3 players, Fossil shades and lanyards. Digicom will give away a music and video entertainment centre fully loaded with speakers and LCD screen.
