Magistrate Fazil Azeez yesterday sentenced a man to two days’ imprisonment after he found guilty of fraudulently converting the proceeds for two iguanas.
The accused, Renee Boucher, was yesterday entrusted with the two iguanas to sell and return the proceeds to Haroon Bacchus.
He sold the iguanas and utilized the money for his own purposes.
When he appeared at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court soon after, he pleaded guilty.
The magistrate explained that Boucher was going to serve one day for each iguana.
