Banks DIH Ltd. in collaboration with DIAGEO, owners of the world’s leading whiskey brand Johnnie Walker and the Caribbean Breweries Association (CBA), will hold a “Know Your Boundaries” simulation exercise tomorrow in the Main Street Avenue (in front of Main Street Qik Serv) starting at 15:00 hours.

Sir Vivian Richards participates in a catching exercise during the “Know Your Boundaries” programme.
The exercise is designed to show through the use of sport how the use of alcohol impairs reaction and judgment.
Former West Indies captain and batting maestro Sir Viv Richards, Johnnie Walker Responsible Drinking Ambassador will be advocating the use of safe alternative modes of transportation.
In a release from the organisers, it was stated that, “The Digicel Series between the West Indies and England this year presents an opportunity for us to collaborate with the Johnnie Walker Responsible Drinking Ambassador, Sir Vivian Richards, to encourage the people of the Caribbean to ‘Know their Boundaries’ and ‘Drink Responsibly’.
This year we will take the campaign a step further by focusing on the issue of “drink driving” in the Caribbean.
Throughout the campaign Sir Viv, will be advocating the use of safe alternative modes of transportation to self-chauffeuring when drinking, such as designating a driver, or taking taxis.
The programme will be supported by radio advertisements, as well as by print and other forms of advertising. The campaign is aimed at creating awareness among Caribbean people, particularly the youth, about the importance of not driving while drunk.
“Ultimately, it is our intention that our efforts will make an overwhelmingly positive contribution to the emergence of a movement of Caribbean people who are sensitized about the importance of responsible consumption, and the positive implications on society as a whole, from responsible choices regarding drink-drive.
