Defending Berbice champions Albion will put their county title on the line when they battle Rose Hall Town Windies Sports Bar in the Berbice zone final of the national Gafoor’s 20/20 first division cricket competition at the Port Mourant ground from 13:30hrs tomorrow.
Albion, who lost to Malteenoes in last year’s national final which was played on May 10 this year, beat Blairmont in the Berbice semi-final, while RHTWSB got past Young Warriors in their ‘final four’ clash to set up tomorrow’s county finale.
With the incentive of knowing that tomorrow’s winner will advance to the National semi-finals, a keen contest is anticipated with several of Guyana’s leading players expected to be on show. Central Essequibo have already won the Essequibo zone while the Demerara zone is yet to be completed.
Narsingh Deonarine, Veerasammy Permaul, Davendra Bishoo, Jonathan Foo and Ranga Lachigadu are among the key players for Albion, while RHTWSB could be pinning their hopes on Assad Fudadin, the Crandon brothers (Esuan and Royston), Delbert Hicks Renrick Batson and the experienced Andre Percival.
