Dear Editor,
I wish that the Minister would stop telling the travelling public that the fare is supposed to be reduced and ensure this is done.
It seems that there is nothing the Minister can do but put consumers at risk physically, for paying the reduced fare. The minibus associations seem to have their way as far as fares are concerned.
They are on camera defying the Minister’s statement to reduce the fare. This is the only country where this form of defiance by a sector providing service to a nation, openly and without fear of the consequences, defies a Minister who represents the administration.
Mr. Minister, you have to ensure the relief to consumers is put into effect immediately, and deal with these errant minibus owners and operators as warranted. Umar Saied
