Supligen All–star Weekend looms as teams intensify practice

Georgetown and Linden’s All–star junior and senior teams intensified practice sessions yesterday ahead of this weekend’s Supligen All–star Basketball Weekend at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

All four teams were hard at work yesterday, fine tuning their skills for the biggest ‘gala’ in the sport locally.
The word coming out of Linden was that both their senior and junior team will continue sessions until Friday.

Meanwhile, members of the senior Georgetown team were hard at work at the Burnham Basketball Court while the junior team practiced at the National Gymnasium. Their next session is slated for Friday at the same venues.

The management of the 2008 All–star Weekend are currently engineering what they hope will be the biggest and best basketball entertainment extravaganza in the seven–year history of the spectacular calendar event.

The group has disclosed that there will be surprises that was never part of prior All–star events and in fact, the company has duly dubbed the 2008 event: ‘The Staff Party’ to introduce a mind boggling concept to patrons.

For the first time in the history of the event, basketball and entertainment will collide in a spectacular display of ‘Showtime’ skill. The best junior and senior talents in Linden and Georgetown are expected to be on display.
