Ocean View Golf tourney set for today

Ocean View International Hotel is teaming up with the Lusignan Golf Club to sponsor this weekend’s Medal Play Golf tournament at the Lusignan Course.

The tournament will take place today and another intriguing battle looms as the youths and several led players started to show incredible form ahead of next month’s Guyana Open championships.

Last weekend’s winner petite Joann Deo will be looking to continue her fine showing and may even attempt to repeat the Hole-In-One she achieved at the Ansa McAl tournament. Golf officials disclosed that the achievement may have been the first in over 20 years.

Avinash Persaud, the teenage former Guyana Open men’s champion also recorded a Gross Par another remarkable feat at last weekend’s event, will be looking to continue from where he left off.

There are also the regular contenders including Ian Gouveia, Patrick Prashad, Esau Shamshudin, Chatterpaul Deo, Imran Khan, Lester Alvis, Carlos Adams, Melissa Humphrey, Ronald Bulkhan, Avinda Kishore, Bolaram Deo, Dr. Ram Singh, Jorge Medina, Alfred Mentore and Albert Semple.

A representative from Ocean View International Hotel is expected to attend and to assist in the distribution of prizes. Tee off is at 12:00 hours.
