Charlestown Secondary School trashed Central High School yesterday when the Ministry of Education (MOE) and Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) limited overs cricket competition commenced at the Ghandi Cricket Ground.
In a game reduced from the allotted 40 overs to 30, Central crashed to 59 all–out chasing Charlestown’s total of 162 from 27.1 overs to hand the latter a handsome 103–run victory after sending them in to take first strike.
Almando Damon hit nine boundaries that included eight fours and a six in his 59 to lead Charlestown then returned with the ball to pick up 3–21 from four overs. Trevor France scored 32 runs and then took 3–14 from 5.4 overs.
Central’s innings lasted 12.5 overs with Daniel Jadbir top scoring with 15 runs inclusive of two solitary fours. Earlier, Aubrey Elexy had taken 6–24 for Central whose next game is against Freeburg on Friday.
