Mahaicony ‘fix-man’ electrocuted
Another illegal reconnection resulted in death as 50-year-old, Danny Chattergoon, of Recess, Mahaicony was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mahaicony Hospital at approximately 18:00 hours on Thursday.
According to reports, the Guyana Power and Light (GPL) Company disconnected the power supply to Chattergoon’s home some time ago.
But his son was in the practice of illegally reconnecting the power supply to the house.
Chattergoon would reconnect the wires on those nights when his son would be at work. Something went wrong when Chattergoon attempted to reconnect the wires Thursday night and he was electrocuted.
He was rushed to the Mahaicony Hospital, but had expired by the time he arrived.
