The International Pharmaceutical Agency have proclaimed that they are the best ‘Company Cricket Team” in town, with a sound 88-run trashing of Republic Bank in a feature 20/20 fixture last Sunday.
IPA exhibit batting depth and were spearheaded by Rickey Persaud and Chien Gittens who slammed two of the fastest half-centuries in a local 20/20.
The IPA pair led their team to a massive 263 for 7 off their overs with captain, Rickey Persaud hitting 91, which included ten sixes and four fours with support from Chien Gittens, who lashed 60 and extras helped with a healthy 53 runs.
In reply, Republic Bank were dismissed for 175 with Kelvin Bovell top scoring with 36, Damian Denny 26 not out and Colin Abel 22 offering support. Extras also contributed 33 runs. IPA’s Richard Latiff was the most successful of the team with 3-19, while Sahadeo Hardiaow and Persaud returned to take two wickets apiece.
Following the match, trophies were awarded to the Winning IPA team, man-of-the-match Rickey Persaud and Best Bowler Richard Latiff, both of IPA.
