Murder accused, Sherwin Nero, was yesterday slapped with another charge, this time for the killing of Ivor Williams, a 24-year-old soldier, who was shot dead in the East Coast Demerara village of Buxton in January.
Nero, also known as ‘Sherwin Moses’, ‘Patacake’ or ‘Catty’, was jointly charged with fugitive Rondell ‘Fineman’ Rawlins, Cecil Simone Rambarran, called ‘Uncle Magic’ or ‘Limpy’, and Royden Durant, called ‘Smallie.’
Nero, 22, of Lot 74 Dennis Street, Sophia, appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle. The others were not present and arrest warrants were issued for them. It was alleged that they murdered Williams on January 23, 2008.
Williams was reportedly shot on the night of January 23 during an armed confrontation between members of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) and gunmen.
The matter was transferred to the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court for continuation on June 27. Nero was recently charged with the August 30, 2007 murder of mango trader, Kumar Singh called ‘Mango Man.’
He is the third person charged with killing the businessman who was shot dead at his Cove and John, East Coast Demerara home.
