(Kaieteur News) – Scores of Berbicians poured into the Albion Community Center Ground in Corentyne, Berbice on Tuesday for a night of thrills, through breathtaking cultural presentations by the visiting Chinese Acrobatic Troupe, currently touring Guyana.
Far from the regular local amusement, both young and old were awed by hand-juggling, rope-skipping, body-contorting, somersaulting entertainment on display by the artistic performers out of China.

Highly technical acrobatics, requiring the most delicate physical coordination and flawless precision, seemed all too routine by the professional cast, but nevertheless stunned the animated audience, whose roars after each thrilling performance collectively summed up absolute satisfaction.
Offering brief remarks, government Member of Parliament (MP) Zamal Hussain noted that the presence of the touring talent group here represents an active and amicable relationship between the Cooperative Republic of Guyana and the People’s Republic of China.
One of the highlights of the spectacular evening was a rendition of Adrian Dutchin’s ‘I am a Guyanese’, performed by Yiran, of the Chinese Embassy in Georgetown, who went viral recently for his creative modification of the lyrics to ‘I am a Chi-yanese’ (Chinese + Guyanese) to reflect the shared affection of the two cultures.
Fresh off their acclaimed show at the National Cultural Center in Georgetown on Monday evening, the performers now set sights on the mining town of Linden on Tuesday, and Anna Regina on Wednesday.
Each show was free of cost, adding to the delight of already excited Guyanese who have since flocked each venue.
