(Kaieteur News) – Dem boys seh some people got a relationship with home that resemble a landlord and tenant dispute. Is like they living there under protest.
Every morning they wake up and before the bed sheet even cool down, they looking for somewhere to go. If they spend more than twenty minutes inside the house, they start behaving like they sitting on a nest of red ants.
Dem boys know one fella who does leave home so often that even he front gate does get separation anxiety when he stay inside too long.
The mystery is that these people don’t even have nowhere important to go. They just got to go. They would walk out the yard, stand up by the corner shop, discuss the weather, discuss politics, discuss cricket, discuss who buy a new car, and then return home. Five minutes later they gone again.
One man tell dem boys he going “on the road.” When asked why, he seh, “Just so.” Imagine that. Whole journey powered by “just so.”
Sunday is the funniest day. Normal people does use Sunday to rest. Not these wanderers. By eight o’clock, they bathe and dress and looking for somewhere to migrate to. If they remain home too long, they begin opening and closing the fridge every three minutes.
And don’t let rain fall. Rain got ordinary people indoors. But these experts in roaming would stand up under a shop awning, staring at the rain, waiting for it to stop so they can continue doing absolutely nothing somewhere else.
The strangest thing is when they finally come home. They rush in, eat everything in sight, watch television for fifteen minutes, take a bath, and then announce they “going out lil bit.”
A lil bit, in Guyana, could mean four hours.
Dem boys seh maybe scientists should study these people. They might discover a new medical condition: Chronic Road Syndrome. Symptoms include an inability to sit still, an uncontrollable urge to visit the corner, and severe discomfort whenever home is occupied for more than thirty consecutive minutes.
Talk half. Leff half.
