According to a recent invitation to bids issued by the Regional Administration, the health posts are located in Rewa, Surama, and Tiperu Villages.
The tender document states that $5 million is estimated for the works at the Surama Health posts while $6 million and $13,657,000 for the Rewa and Tiperu health posts.
Bids are expected to open at the Regional Tender Administration Board on June 9, 2026.
In addition to these works, the RDC will be spending $6 million each for repairs to Churikidnau Health Post, and Wowetta Health Post, and $10,831,000 to repair the Yurong Paru Health Post.
Kaieteur News understands that the projects will form part of the $2.5 billion allocated in the 2026 national budget and approved for health services in Region Nine.
Minister of Health, Dr. Frank Anthony on numerous occasions said that the government is constructing and upgrading health centres and posts across the country to complement the regional hospitals and ensure modern facilities for healthcare workers across the regions.
This is aimed at decentralising and expanding the range of public healthcare services provided to citizens, enhancing accessibility for communities nationwide.
