Kaieteur Sports – In a show of fine margins, Zachary Persaud snatched a narrow pole for Today’s BANKS DIH Briggs and Stratton and Stratton Senior Light class of the $10M Nitro Kart Klash.
Saturday’s qualifying session was one in which many drivers were pushed to the limit to extract every fraction of a second, and when the dust settled, Persaud emerged atop the time sheets at the National Stadium Parking Lot.
Persaud’s 35.310 ensures that he has the first jump at the grand Prize of $1M on offer for the final today, with Calvin Ming (35.553), Khalil Rickford (35.634), and Matthew Phang (35.799) all sniffing close by.
Persaud also starts on pole in the Honda GX200 Class sponsored by Jumbo Jet Auto Sales after a time of 36.986, putting him ahead of Naresh Alves (38.240) and Luis Kumar (38.687), with Aqueel Edwards, Jaden Daziel, and Shaun Bhoodoo completing the grid.
In the Chung’s Global Super Moto 125CC Junior Class, Lishon Lewis’ 37.010-second time was enough to secure top spot ahead of Joshua Holder (39.970) and Troquille Sealy (41.060).
The Forresters Lumber and Building Complex, Briggs and Stratton Heavy Class, will see Mikhail Persaud 36.594 start the day ahead of Jhon Mohamed (37.492), Salim Azeez (38.236), Andre Rochford (39.315), and Jeremey Ten Pow in that order.
The Triple J Construction IAME X30 125CC was another battle of close times, with Justin Ten Pow’s 31.223 time enough to pip a hard-charging Kristian Jeffrey, who could only muster a 31.288; both times a shave off Calvin Ming’s 31.366.
Narrowly missing out on the top three spot was Benjamin Phang with a 31.844, who starts ahead of Nicholas Sawh (32.319), ahead of Rayden Persaud and Mahendra Bhoodoo.
In the SVC Incorporated Briggs and Stratton Cadet, William Vieira recorded a 37.255 to take the top spot ahead of Asrudeen Mohamed (37.452), Nathan Seejattan (37.720), with Gavriel Gayadin (37.729) representing another close battle.
Meanwhile, Paige Mendonca snagged the top spot in the J’s Supermarket Female Briggs and Stratton and Stratton Class ahead of Malicia Lawrence.
